Dr. Ashlee C. Fowlkes

Dr. Ashlee C. Fowlkes is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. His passion for LGBTQ+ sensitivity is palpable and has resulted in him becoming a highly sought after speaker and consultant. Dr. Fowlkes has worked in the field of Diversity and Inclusion for the past 10 years.  He has been called upon to provide training and consultation to organizations both large and small. His largest client has more than 10,000 employees, while his smallest client has less than 10 employees. Dr. Fowlkes is an amazing facilitator and captivates an audience with ease. Whether it be a large audience (i.e., mandatory training for all employees) or a more intimate setting (i.e., an Executive Leadership Team Retreat) Dr. Fowlkes always brings the full weight of his expertise to bear.

Dr. Fowlkes has provided LGBTQ+ sensitivity training and consultation in multiple settings which include but are not limited to: the financial sector, the prison system, institutions of higher education and psychiatric hospitals.

In addition to facilitating trainings and providing consultation Dr. Fowlkes will occasionally agree to serve as the keynote speaker at an event. Two examples come to mind. Dr. Fowlkes served as the Keynote speaker at a PRIDE event within the Federal Bureau of Prisons delivering a speech of hope and resilience to openly gay and transgender inmates. Dr. Fowlkes was also honored to be selected to deliver the keynote address at Virginia State University's first ever Lavender Ceremony. This event proved to be historic as it was the first Lavender Ceremony to be held at an HBCU in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

As a transgender man himself, Dr. Fowlkes has a profound appreciation for the impact (both blatant and subtle) of cultural competence and sensitivity in the workplace.  Dr. Fowlkes is considered a subject matter expert and provides consultation on the creation and implementation of policies and procedures related to sexual and/or gender minorities.
