Khalilah A .Williams, MA

Khalilah Williams, MAKhalilah Williams is a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with her clients on exploring and identifying their areas of strengths and resilience.  She has supported individuals, couples and families as they identify and address problematic patterns in their lives and in their relationships.

Through her own experience and working with mothers; Khalilah found the organization “Mommy Take off Your Cape” promoting self-care and psycho-education to mothers. She is also the host of an internet radio show titled “Mommy Take off Your Cape” featured on Beacon of Light Radio.

The goal of “Mommy Take off Your Cape” is to empower women to care for themselves without guilt or shame, increase their self-esteem, provide them with more effective parenting skills and strategies on how to balance the different roles they have more efficiently. Khalilah support women and their families as they address maternal mental health and the internal dialog women experience after giving birth.

There is a stigma attached to maternal mental health and mothers’ making themselves a priority.  But the truth of the matter is, we can only be our best in the many roles we have if we take care of ourselves. Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s protecting your wellbeing.
